Elijah Griffin

Elijah Griffin serves as the student representative and ex officio member of the UNC Pembroke Board of Trustees. A native of Oxford, North Carolina, he is a senior majoring in Mass Communication with a concentration in broadcasting while pursuing minors in business administration and political science.
Griffin serves as president of the Student Government Association, where he works alongside fellow student leaders to strengthen collaboration, transparency and student engagement across campus. Alongside Vice President LaNiya Harris and his administration, they are committed to amplifying student voices while promoting student wellness, with a particular emphasis on expanding awareness of mental health resources.
An active campus leader, Griffin has served as a peer academic leader, three-year orientation leader and member of the university's Student Conduct Board. His previous leadership experience includes serving as associate vice president for external affairs in the UNC Association of Student Government (ASG).
Beyond student leadership, Griffin has held positions with the university's Department of Information Technology (DoIT), providing technical support to students, faculty and staff, and as a duty manager at Hawk's Nest, where he helped coordinate student programs and events. He has also served as a marketing intern, a member of the Spirit of the Carolinas marching band and Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc.
