John Squier
John Squier is the UNCP Student Body President for the 2025-2026 school year. He is a resident of Raeford, North Carolina. John is an Applied Physics major who plans to attend graduate school for an MS Physics program upon graduation. John's experience in SGA includes his time as Government Operations Committee Chair, Parliamentarian and Junior Senator during his first year.

John's experience with student government and his passion for higher education reach beyond his campus, as he was a delegate to the University of North Carolina Association of Student Governments (UNCASG) and currently serves on the Council of Student Body Presidents. His dedication to this position includes his acknowledgment of issues that impact sister institutions and amplifying the voice of UNC Pembroke's student body as the only historically minority serving institution (HSMI) in the UNC system. John has also been a Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear (CBRN) Specialist in the Army Reserves for two years and currently wears the rank of Specialist.

With the help of his Vice-President, Demilade Babarinde, the duo seeks to "Engage Peers Through Opportunities" as their campaign defined by making students aware of not just the many opportunities and resources that are afforded to them at UNCP, but also the power in the voice that each student holds as the ultimate stakeholders of their university.
