Darlene Natale

Darlene Natale brings years of professional journalism and communication experience. Her newswriting, feature writing and photography have appeared in The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Butler Eagle, Atlantic Racquet Press and La Dolce Vita.

At UNCP she teaches journalism and mass communication courses and advises the Pine Needle student newspaper.

Before joining UNCP, Darlene was an instructor at Point Park University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Her research interests include rhetoric (propaganda and persuasion, demagoguery), parasocial engagement and media history. Her dissertation was titled “Recognition and Perceptions of Native Advertising in Media.”
