Dr. Timothy Altman is Professor of Music at UNC Pembroke where he teaches trumpet and conducting and directs the Wind Ensemble and Concert Band. He served as Department Chair for 10 years. A Fulbright U.S. Scholar to Malta in 2019, he has also taught at all levels of music education in Virginia, Wisconsin, Kentucky and North Carolina.

Dr. Altman has led performances at NCMEA conferences and International Trumpet Guild events and has commissioned works from composers like Eric Ewazen and Kevin McKee. His DMA is from the University of Kentucky; he holds music education degrees from Virginia Tech and the University of Wisconsin–Whitewater. He performs with the Fayetteville Symphony Orchestra and Carolina Philharmonic and has played with The Four Tops, The Temptations, Martha Reeves and many others. His CD Baroque Music for Two Trumpets, Strings and Harpsichord is available on major platforms.
He is a Yamaha Artist.
