Advanced School Counseling for Postsecondary Success
Make a real difference for K-12 students with UNC Pembroke’s Advanced School Counseling certificate. In this 12-credit, fully online program, you’ll have the flexibility to learn on your schedule. Gain the skills to support every student’s path to postsecondary success.
Degrees

Program Details
This fully online certificate is available to:
- Current UNCP PSC Students: If you’re in the 60-credit Professional School Counseling (PSC) program, you can earn this certificate alongside your degree, simply fulfill elective requirements and complete two additional courses.
- Licensed School Counselors: Those already licensed will gain advanced training in school counseling
For PSC students, the CNS5750 College and Career Readiness course counts toward certificate requirements. Upon completion, you’ll graduate with both a PSC degree and the Advanced School Counseling for Postsecondary Success certificate, totaling 63 credit hours.

- CNS 5650 School Counselor as Leader, Advocate and Consultant (summer II)
- CNS 5750 College and Career Readiness (spring)
- CNS 5770 Evidence-Based School Counseling (summer I)
- CNS 5780 Addressing the Achievement Gap and Issues of Social Justice (spring)
