UNC Pembroke is a constituent institution of the University of North Carolina (UNC) system. According to The UNC Code, UNCP shall have a 13-member board of trustees of which eight are elected by the UNC Board of Governors, four are appointed by the General Assembly and the student body president serves as an ex-officio member.
