UNC Pembroke’s Bachelor of Science in Accounting prepares you for success in public, corporate or government accounting. Through focused coursework, you will build the skills needed for entry-level roles across a variety of industries. You will also be eligible to sit for the CPA exam in North Carolina or continue your education in graduate school to expand your career opportunities even further.

Bachelor of Science in Accounting

Learn how to understand federal and state tax laws to help clients and companies. You’ll gain skills to create tax strategies and reach financial goals while staying in line with regulations. This track allows you to work with individuals, corporations and nonprofits.
Learn to manage the systems that keep financial data secure. You’ll gain knowledge in areas like data management and internal controls. This track prepares you to keep sensitive information safe and ensure companies follow regulations. This track may be for you if you’re interested in both accounting and technology.
Build skills in financial analysis, budgeting and creating reports. This track will teach you how to interpret data to make business decisions. You’ll learn to examine a company’s finances, create performance reports and guide organizations to improve and grow.

Get a broad understanding of all areas in accounting, including auditing, financial reporting and management. This track prepares you for a wide range of careers in accounting and finance. It’s also a strong foundation if you want to pursue further studies in accounting.

Minor in Accounting



No matter your major, an accounting minor adds value. This flexible program gives you a strong foundation in financial principles that apply to every field. You will take courses in financial and managerial accounting, intermediate accounting and two electives that match your interests. Whether you're planning a career in business, healthcare, the arts or public service, this minor helps you understand and manage financial information with confidence.
