Strategic Partnership
UNCP has partnered with Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) School of Law to help you succeed. If you're accepted to CWRU Law, you’ll get a scholarship, stipend and other benefits. Scholarships last three years as long as you stay in good academic standing.
When you enroll, you can join CWRU’s summer program for free, get your first-semester textbooks at no cost and be paired with a mentor. If you earn a 3.0 GPA or higher after your first fall semester, you’re guaranteed a summer law clerk job or a $2,000 stipend for unpaid work with a nonprofit or government agency. You’ll receive $1,000 in your third year to help cover bar exam costs.
I came to UNCP with the goal of attending law school. That is what I wanted to do from the first day I walked through the door. I am so happy I chose UNC Pembroke. UNCP has given me more opportunity and growth than I ever imagined. The caliber of faculty is incredible. My professors were so interested in ensuring I was learning and understanding that I could apply the curriculum outside the classroom.

Early Assurance Agreement
The Early Assurance Program is a partnership between East Carolina University (ECU)
Brody School of Medicine (BSOM) and UNC Pembroke, whereby two of the 80 seats in the
entering BSOM class are reserved four years in advance for outstanding students attending
UNCP for their undergraduate program. Students selected as Early Assurance students
at BSOM will receive a four-year merit scholarship.
The scholarship covers expenses, including tuition, books, room and board (for on-campus
housing only). North Carolina residents in Robeson, Hoke, Scotland, Bladen, Columbus
and Sampson are eligible for the Brody School of Medicine Early Assurance Program.
As part of the application process, the Brody School of Medicine invites qualified
students for an interview.
My experience at UNCP prepared me outside the classroom by introducing me to internship opportunities and connecting with professionals. The Brody Scholars program has opened a lot of doors for me. My professors and advisors took the time to sit with me and talk through what would be expected of me in medical school and things I can do to in preparation for the next chapter of my life.

Memorandum
East Carolina and UNCP signed a memorandum of understanding, providing an easier path
for UNCP graduates to enroll in degree and certificate programs offered by ECU’s Department
of Public Health. ECU offers a Master of Public Health and Doctor of Public Health
degree and an online certificate.
The agreement will enable faculty from both institutions to work together on research and educational initiatives with a shared goal to enhance the health of citizens in eastern North Carolina and across the state through research, education and service.
We value our partnership with ECU because it provides additional pathways for our students to succeed in their career goals; and collaborations like this one strengthen and vitalize southeast North Carolina.

Early Assurance Program
The Early Assurance Program is a partnership between ECU School of Dental Medicine
and UNC Pembroke, which guarantees admission of UNCP students into the ECU School
of Dental Medicine’s Doctor of Dental Medicine program upon meeting specific criteria
and requirements.
Beginning in fall 2024, outstanding first-year students entering UNCP can secure one of the 52 SoDM seats reserved three years in advance. As part of the application process, the School of Dental Medicine invites qualified students for an interview.
My time at UNCP shaped me into who I am today. When I was a UNCP student, I wasn’t confident that I could achieve the goals I wanted to achieve, but my professors and my advisors saw my potential. I am so grateful for my journey. I believe this agreement will offer the same journey to other UNCP students. I truly believe that I am a testament to UNCP's motto of 'get there from here.' This university paved the way for a small-town girl from Hamlet, NC, to become a doctor of dental medicine, and, for that, I am forever grateful. UNCP will always be my home.

Physician Assistant Program
Methodist University’s Physician Assistant Program has entered into an articulation
agreement with UNCP designed to strengthen the program’s goal of encouraging diversity
in the health professions programs.
Through the agreement, Methodist will reserve a maximum of two seats in the program
for qualified UNCP graduates who identify as American Indians.
I've always known I wanted to be a public servant and, as a physician, I can offer people in my community a better quality of life through healthcare. By getting accepted to PA school, I'll have the opportunity to follow my dreams. I credit the support from UNCP's Health Careers Access Program for helping me enter this reputable program.

3+2 Dual-Degree Engineering Program
Civil or Environmental
Students enrolling in the 3+2 Dual-Degree Engineering Program attend UNCP for three
years majoring in Geo-environmental Studies. After the successful completion of all requirements, students attend NC State University’s
College of Engineering for two years to complete a second degree in either Civil or
Environmental Engineering. Upon completion of both programs, students graduate with
both degrees.
Students interested in the program will follow a set schedule of courses throughout
their program and will receive additional support and mentorship during their three
years at UNCP. Upon satisfaction of program requirements at UNCP, department staff
will assist in the transition to enrolling at NC State for the final two years of
the program.
Electrical or Mechanical
Students enrolling in the 3+2 Dual-Degree Engineering Program attend UNCP for three
years majoring in Applied Physics. After the successful completion of all requirements, students attend NC State University’s
College of Engineering for two years to complete a second degree in either Electrical
or Mechanical Engineering. Upon completion of both programs, students graduate with both degrees.
Students interested in the program will follow a set schedule of courses throughout
their program and will receive additional support and mentorship during their three
years at UNCP. Upon satisfaction of program requirements at UNCP, department staff
will assist in the transition to enrolling at NC State for the final two years of
the program. For more information, contact Dr. Siva Mandjiny at 910.521.6608.
I chose UNCP because the professors and administration are dedicated to helping us be successful. For me, that’s critical. If you have dedicated teachers, then you’ll have dedicated students.

Early Assurance Program
UNC Pembroke and the UNC Adams School of Dentistry (ASOD) have formally agreed to create a pathway for aspiring dentists through an Early Assurance Admission initiative. The initiative will offer high-achieving students admission to one of the nation’s top-ranked dental programs.
The Early Assurance Program (EAP) reflects ASOD's commitment to admit talented students from varied backgrounds who will become the next generation of oral healthcare providers while expanding access to dental education. EAP offers early assurance of admission into the Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) program after students complete their undergraduate studies at UNCP.
This partnership is a transformative opportunity for our students and a powerful example of UNC Pembroke’s commitment to expanding access to high-quality healthcare education. By establishing a clear and supportive pathway into the field of dentistry, we are opening doors for talented students, particularly those from rural communities, to pursue careers in a highly competitive profession.

Early Assurance Program
An Early Assurance Program has been established with the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy
(ESOP). This program offers early assurance of admission into the UNC ESOP Doctor
of Pharmacy Program after at least two years of undergraduate study at UNCP.
Candidates will be selected based on academic and non-academic strengths identified
by UNCP's NC-Health Careers Access Program (NC-HCAP) in conjunction with the Department
of Biology and Chemistry and through performance after the first year of study at
UNCP. Up to five students will be admitted annually through the Early Assurance Program.
This is a great opportunity. Some people think they have to go to a big university to get to big places, but if you remain focused on your studies at a smaller school in smaller classrooms, it will take you to big places and bigger opportunities.

Early Assurance Agreement
UNC Pembroke has signed an Early Assurance Agreement with the Institute of World Politics for students interested in graduate study and careers in Political Science and Public Administration. The Institute of World Politics is a private graduate school of national security, intelligence and international affairs in Washington DC, and Reston, Virginia.
Through this partnership, qualified students receive $2,200 guaranteed scholarship per semester for IWP’s in-person academic programs, if accepted within IWP admission guidelines, upon graduation from UNCP. Additional merit-based scholarships, paid internships and work-study positions are also available. Tuition is reduced from $650 to $500 per credit hour for those enrolled in IWP’s distance programs. Applicants must apply on or after April 30 of their Junior/3rd Year to be pre-approved.
The pathway program with UNCP and IWP is a great opportunity to receive scholarship money and to have the opportunity to attend a prestigious graduate school. I hope more UNCP students will take advantage of this great opportunity and help strengthen this pipeline.

Pre-Vet Medicine Scholars
UNCP and Tuskegee University have established a Pre-Veterinary Medicine Scholars Program.
This program serves as a pipeline to prepare and inspire talented UNCP undergraduate
students who wish to pursue a career in veterinary medicine.
Under this MOU, two qualified UNCP students from the Department of Biology are guaranteed
acceptance into the Tuskegee School of Veterinary Medicine each year.
This is a good opportunity for our university to grow, especially in the Biology Department, related to veterinarian medicine. When I started, I didn’t have any pre-vet advisors letting me know when I need to apply or what classes to take. So I think this program is going to help the incoming students with all the groundwork.

UNC System Veterinary Education Access Scholars
Offered through the Health Careers Access Program.
UNCP and NCSU have developed an agreement to establish the first-ever UNC System Veterinary Education Access Scholars (UNC-SVEA) program. Up to two students, plus one alternate, from each entering class of UNCP’s Biology program are selected during their sophomore year.
All UNC-SVEA Scholar students are required to complete all academic requirements for a Bachelor of Science degree at UNCP and meet all academic requirements for admission to NCSU’s College of Veterinary Medicine. For more information, contact the UNCP Health Careers Access Program at 910.521.6673.
I am grateful for UNCP’s SVEA and Health Careers Access Program (HCAP) for making the path to NCSU seamless and allowing me to focus solely on my studies. It was beneficial because NC State has a very rigorous application process. So not having to go through that removed a lot of stress. I’m very grateful for UNCP and the opportunities I was given.

The Possibilities are Endless

I am really excited about this partnership. When I was an undergrad, I had classes with Yaqot Nasser, who was in the early assurance program at Brody, and I wished there was something for pre-dental students. Trying to pursue a post-doctoral program and being in a rural area and feeling like you don’t have adequate resources to get there can be overwhelming. So, this partnership will give many students inspiration and confidence.
