Application Deadlines
Make sure to submit your application by the priority deadline to ensure a timely review. Applying even before these deadlines opens the door to greater scholarship opportunities, preferred housing and many other advantages.

UNCP Application

College Foundation of North Carolina (CFNC)
As a North Carolina resident you can Use the CFNC portal to submit your UNCP application easily and confidently — from planning and applying to managing your progress and sending transcripts. Just create a free CFNC account — or log in if you already have one — then select UNC Pembroke to get started.

What You'll Need
A complete application for freshman admission includes:
- Completed online application: UNCP or via CFNC.org or CommonApp.org
- Nonrefundable $55 application fee
- Official high school transcript
- Students with a weighted high school GPA less than 2.8 are required to submit an ACT or SAT score. UNCP's codes are: SAT: 5534 and ACT: 3138

We offer rolling admission and will review your application upon completion and receiving all supporting documents.
We do encourage you to apply early for priority consideration for available scholarships and admission to Maynor Honors College.
The NC Residency Determination Service (RDS) determines residency for tuition purposes for all UNC System universities. If you are an undergraduate student applying for admission and claiming in-state residency for tuition purposes, you must visit NCresidency.org to verify your residency.
Please note that the process could take up to 25 days to complete, so starting early is in your best interest.
If you have already completed the residency verification process and obtained your Residency Certification Number (RCN), you can enter your RCN when filling out your application. If you do not already have your RCN, you may submit your application and then come back and enter your RCN once you have it. It is your responsibility to complete the Residency Determination Process in a timely manner.
Admissions Requirements
To be considered for admission, you must have:
- English: four-course units emphasizing grammar, composition and literature.
- Mathematics: four course units in any of the following combinations:
- Algebra I, algebra II, geometry and one unit beyond algebra II; or
- Algebra I, algebra II and two units beyond algebra II; or
- Common core math I, II and III and one unit beyond common core math III; or
- Integrated math I, II, III and one unit beyond integrated math III; or
- NC Math 1, 2, 3 and one unit beyond NC Math 3 identified as meeting the 4th-level mathematics requirement for admission to UNC System institutions.
- Science: three-course units, including at least:
- One life science unit (e.g., biology, ecology, zoology); and
- One non-life science unit (e.g., astronomy, chemistry, earth science, environmental science, physical science, physics); and
- One laboratory science unit.
- Social Studies: two course units, including one unit in U.S. history.
- Two additional academic courses from English, mathematics, science, social studies, world languages or computer science. (Note: These courses should be selected in alignment with a student’s academic and career objectives. Completion of two sequential world language courses is recommended.)
For students entering in the Fall 2025 or Spring 2026 semesters:
- High school GPA minimum weighted GPA of 2.5.
- Standardized Test Scores-If you have a weighted high school GPA greater than or equal to 2.50 and less than 2.80, you are required to submit a standardized test score (ACT or SAT).
