CLEP is a series of computer-based exams that allow individuals to demonstrate learning and earn college credit for that knowledge.

Please note that the CLEP fee must be paid online at the CLEP Website PRIOR to making the testing appointment.

The Praxis is a suite of standardized tests used to assess the knowledge and skills of prospective and current educators. It's developed and administered by the Educational Testing Service (ETS). 

All PRAXIS exams administered through UNCP begin at 9 a.m.

The GRE is a standardized test used for admission to graduate programs. It assesses critical thinking, analytical writing, verbal reasoning and quantitative reasoning skills, evaluating a student's readiness for advanced academic study. The GRE is administered by ETS (Educational Testing Service). 
 

All GRE exams administered through UNCP begin at 9 a.m.

The TOEFL iBT test measures your ability to use and understand English at the university level and  evaluates how well you combine your listening, reading, speaking and writing skills to perform academic tasks. Some colleges require TOEFL as an admission requirement for non-native speakers. Additionally, institutions such as government agencies, licensing bodies, businesses or scholarship programs may require this test.

Test Time: approximately 4 hours. Also, scratch paper and pencils are provided to each tester.

Valid ID Form Required: passport must be presented at the time of testing.

Proctoring Services for Students

The Office for Regional Initiatives also offers professional exam proctoring services for students enrolled at UNC Pembroke as well as other universities within the University of North Carolina system. Onsite, in-person proctoring is offered at the Proctor Lab location in the COMtech Business Park, 115 Livermore Drive, Pembroke.

Meazure Learning


UNCP uses the online proctoring solution Meazure Learning to provide students and instructors the flexibility to take exams remotely. Students do not need to create an account - simply click the link in the Canvas course page.
 

Exams can be scheduled by calling UNC Pembroke Proctoring Services at 910.775.4000,  Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
