First-gen students find success, sense of belonging at UNCP

When Armani Jones-Elliott came to UNC Pembroke as a freshman three years ago, she felt alone and overwhelmed with insecurity. Though academically gifted, Jones-Elliott doubted her abilities, which is common among first-generation college students. “As a freshman, you are scared,” she said. “But as a first-generation student, it’s on another level because you don’t have anyone with (college) experience who can advise you.”

UNCP inks academic pathway with ECU School of Dental Medicine

UNC Pembroke has signed an early assurance agreement with East Carolina University’s School of Dental Medicine. The unique agreement guarantees admission of UNCP students into the ECU School of Dental Medicine’s Doctor of Dental Medicine program upon meeting specific criteria and requirements.

PEMBROKE, NC – The University of North Carolina at Pembroke has released the Chancellor’s list and Honors list for Spring 2023. Chancellor’s List To qualify for the Chancellor’s List, a student must maintain a grade point average (GPA) of 3.7 (out of 4.0) while taking at least 12 semester hours; none of the 12 hours may be Pass/Fail.

Lenore and Dick Taylor Scholarship to support UNCP student-athletes

Since her childhood on the family farm in Tabor City, N.C., Lenore Taylor has been involved in athletics and has seen the difference sports can make in the lives of young people. UNCP, UNC-Chapel Hill establish assured admission program with UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy

Current and incoming UNC Pembroke students interested in pursuing a doctoral degree in pharmacy may be eligible for guaranteed admission to UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy, the nation’s top-ranked pharmacy program.   UNCP and UNC-Chapel Hill have established an Early Assurance Program partnership with UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy, creating a seamless pathway for pre-pharmacy students.
