UNCP Alumni Affairs Welcomes Four New Alumni Board Members

The Office of Alumni Affairs at UNC Pembroke is pleased to announce the addition of four new members to the UNCP Alumni Board. These distinguished alumni bring a wide range of professional experience, community service and a shared commitment to the university's mission.

Anthony Locklear '89

A dedicated supporter of UNCP, Anthony Locklear has served in the university's Office of Admissions and later as dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at UNC–Chapel Hill. Now retired and living in Apex, North Carolina, he remains focused on expanding access to higher education and has expressed interest in creating a scholarship in honor of his wife and fellow alumna, Felecia.

Kristi Britt '12

Kristi Britt brings nearly two decades of service to Speech Solution, where she serves as chief of staff and speech-language pathologist. After earning her bachelor's degree in elementary education from UNCP, she pursued a master's degree in speech-language pathology at Nova Southeastern University. Her professional experience and leadership will be a strong asset to the board.

Joe Osman '93

Joe Osman has 29 years of experience in the legal field and currently serves as assistant district attorney in Lumberton. A graduate of Pembroke State University and Campbell University School of Law, Joe is also an active member of his church and a proud father. His background in law and public service will bring valuable perspective to the board.

Jason King '08

Jason King serves as deputy county manager for Robeson County and has more than 20 years of leadership experience in government, finance and public administration. A graduate of UNCP's Master of Public Administration program, he has held key roles with the U.S. Army, FDIC, Robeson County Housing Authority and State Employees Credit Union. His community-focused leadership aligns with UNCP's values and vision.

These new board members exemplify the spirit of BraveNation. Their dedication, insight and leadership will play a vital role in advancing UNCP's mission and supporting alumni engagement across the country.

A research team led by Dr. Ben Bahr, the William C. Friday Chair and Distinguished Professor at UNC Pembroke, has achieved a significant milestone in Alzheimer’s disease research with a new study published in Alzheimer’s & Dementia: The Journal of the Alzheimer’s Association, widely regarded as one of the most prestigious and selective journals in the field.

UNC Pembroke alumna Susan Bird Reese ’79 has made a $100,000 gift to her alma mater in loving memory of her late husband, Arthur “Randy” Ray Reese ’77.
