Throughout the program we will collaborate with the Career Center to provide career and professional development opportunities such as resume reviews, LinkedIn and networking workshops and employer spotlights featuring STEM-related businesses.

Service-Learning Project

Participants will plan, design and execute a STEM day filled with engaging STEM-related activities (science experiments, math activities, building competitions, etc.) for K-12 students that participate in summer programs at local community partners (Lumbee Tribe Boys & Girls Club and the Pembroke Housing Authority). We will partner with the Leadership, Learning & Community office.

Leadership Development

Partnering with the Leadership, Learning & Community, participants will engage in a leadership development series that provides a process for peer to peer education based on the ideas of experiential learning and with a theoretical foundation based on the Social Change Model of Leadership. In order to promote leadership as a collaborative, purposeful, values-based, relational leadership process, these workshops will focus on programs that engage students with a variety of abilities and engagement levels, with appropriately designed opportunities to develop their leadership capacity.
