Congratulations on your acceptance to UNC Pembroke! To ensure you begin your BRAVE EXPERIENCE with confidence, we're excited to welcome you to New Student Orientation — specifically designed for transfer students.

Welcome to UNCP

This comprehensive program will introduce you to campus life, academic resources, support services and everything you need to make a smooth and successful transition to UNCP. From advising and registration to getting connected with your new community, Orientation is your first step toward making the most of your BraveNation journey.

Orientation

Sessions: 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.

Spring Orientation Dates - These dates are for transfer students starting January 2027.

  • Session 1 - Friday, November 20, 2026
  • Session 2 - Friday, December 18, 2026
  • Session 3 - Friday, January 8, 2027

Classes start January 11, 2027

  1. Log into The NEST Orientation Portal using your MyUNCP credentials.Follow our Registration Guide
  2. Click on “Reserve your Orientation Session” button.
  3. Follow the instructions and register for your orientation session.
  4. Please make sure you submit your registration.

Please note: You can only change your orientation date once (if the session you want to move into is open). To change your date, please email orientation@uncp.edu.

Family/Guest Registration

Family reservations require a $60 non-refundable payment for each person. There is a maximum of two family members and/or guests per student. This fee must be paid at the time of your reservation.

Important Info

  • BraveNation Spirit
  • Immunization Record, if needed
  • Comfortable shoes and weather-appropriate clothing
  • Pen and something write notes on
  • Government-Issued ID (Needed to get your UNCP ID)
  • College and/or High School transcripts if not submitted to Admissions (Note: If you attended an Early College, transcripts must come from the High School and College.)

Note: If you have completed additional coursework since your acceptance to UNCP, it is imperative that you have your most recent transcript sent to the UNCP Office of Admissions. It is necessary that you have this process completed before your orientation to ensure proper advisement and registration. If you have questions regarding your transcript evaluation before Orientation, please contact the Office of Admissions at 910.521.6262

After you register for orientation, you will receive an email to your BraveMail account with a link and instructions to schedule your virtual advising appointment.

Preparing for Your Appointment

  • Prior to your advising appointment, please review your degree pathway and be prepared with courses you are interested in taking. Please click here to access your degree path.
  • Make sure you've submitted any final transcripts to Undergraduate Admissions.
  • If you are waiting on final transcripts, have your unofficial transcripts or scores available to assist during your virtual advising and registration appointment.
  • If you are planning to change your major, contact Undergraduate Admissions before scheduling your appointment.

Reminders

  • You must book your appointment for Virtual Advising & Registration meeting before attending New Student Orientation. If needed, you will have an opportunity to adjust your schedule at your orientation session.
  • In-person orientation is required and failure to attend may result in your classes being dropped.

Family Orientation

Attending college can be an exciting and challenging time for families and the experience is different for each student.

Students are not the only ones who are faced with change when they choose to attend college. When a family member attends college, the entire family experiences change. Students find newfound freedoms and move towards independence.

As your student becomes independent, former roles may need to be shift as students balance their new responsibilities. Families may learn new ways to support their college student. In this new role you join the university in supporting your student’s success.

Students will be able to register family members and/or guests for the orientation session. Family reservations require a $60 non-refundable payment for each person. There is a maximum of two family members and/or guests per student with the required guest fee.
