Note: Late Stay Requests are only granted in an extenuating circumstance.
What You Need to Know About Check-Out
All students MUST sign up for a check-out appointment through their myuncp account.

Appointment Window:
April 28 – May 8, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. -
RA Availability for Check-Outs:
RAs will be available at the front desk or in the Courtyard Community Building from 5–8 p.m. during the appointment window.
NOTE: There is no express check-out option. Failure to follow proper check-out procedures will result in an improper check-out fee.
Avoid fines by following procedures. You may be charged if:

You do not schedule a check-out appointment

You leave items behind or do not clean your space

You fail to return your room key
-
Room keys must be turned in at check-out.

Failure to return your key will result in a $65 re-core fee.
Your room, suite or apartment must be left in the same CLEAN condition it was in when you moved in. All shared spaces are the shared responsibility of all assigned residents.

Unless one resident takes responsibility, cleaning and damage charges will be divided equally among all roommates.

HRL staff will inspect all rooms after closure. Additional charges may apply if damages are found.
Use this list to ensure a successful check-out:

Remove all personal belongings

Take all trash to the dumpsters
-
Donate unwanted items
-
Close and lock all windows, lower blinds
-
Check and empty all drawers and closets
-
Defrost and clean fridge (if you have a university issued micro fridge - defrost 48 hrs prior)

Remove tape, hooks, poster putty and check for wall damage

Sweep and clean the floor; remove rugs and carpets
-
Submit maintenance work orders online and inform your RA

Empty your mailbox and pick up packages
-
Take your bike with you (unclaimed bikes will be discarded)

Donation bins will be available at the main entrance of each residence hall and at the Courtyard clubhouse
- During exam week, donation bins for clothing will be located in the lobbies/community buildings

Outside each community, you’ll find:

Containers for electronics and recyclables (paper, cans, glass, cardboard)

Dumpsters for damaged or unusable items
-
Improper trash disposal or failure to clean your space will result in a fine.
